WELCOME

Hi, and welcome to the Cowhorse Videography blog!

The name is new, the face behind it is not. (Don't be rude!)

I started webcasting back in 2008, and have continued to webcast and video working horse events since.

My philosophy then, as now, was to use the power of video to promote equine events and disciplines. My work has always been free to watch, and as far as replays go, will stay that way.

I'd like to think that if I've achieved nothing else to date, I've shown the industries concerned that their members could, and should, be offered more at no extra cost to them, and maybe a few other sites have lifted their games also.

Anyway, new name, new site (Thanks to Caroline from http://cowhorse.com.au/), but the same drive to promote equine sports in the best way I know, by harnessing the power of video and webcasting.

Cheers for now

Neil

Wild, Wild Horses!

If they ever make a t shirt which says "I survived Wild Horse Cutting" I'll be getting one, and adding the word "just" underneath it.
Great weekend, great show! A huge thank you to Kimbo, Karen, Bryson, Ash and Bear, Jack Mayne, Bruce and Helen, Jim and Becky, and the rest of the crew at Wild Horse for your hospitality.
Judged by Richard Prew, assisted at times by Paul Palmowski and Andrew Eddy, the show ran like clockwork, and attracted some great horses, jockeys and crowds.

First event on Friday saw Shaun Durdin on Lady, with a 74, take out the Snafflebit.

Next event was the Open Non Pro, under lights. This event saw Ian Bush (Lethal N Stylish), with 147, just edge out son Jamie (Stylish Doll) on a 146.5, followed by Mark Smith (Destinys Mr Chic) on 145.

Saturdays early morning light saw the Rookies event, won by Helen Bottom (Yulgilbar Missouri Playboy) with a 72.5, from Geoff Meaney (just A Hot Fudge) and Barry Smith (You Can Bank On Me) both on 72.

Then we saw Todd Graham, aboard Peter Ryan's 'Bay B Blue', with a 75, take out the 3 herd $3500 Novice, from Phil Dawson on Rodney Peachey's 'Dee Bar Isa Blue Lena' with a 74, and Phil again aboard Julie Sheedy's 'Twisted Little Sister', with a 73.

A small Youth Class saw Melissa Speed (Tweety Cat) pip Courtney Mulcahy (Daddys Stylish Argyle)

The next event was the Rocky Bob Cat Hire $3500 Non Pro, which saw James Parker (Winderadeen Black Label Cat) with a 75, overcome Barry Smith (You Can Bank On Me) on 74, and Jake Swift (Esswing Pepto Sanolena) with a 73.

Saturdays events finished under lights with the Weatherford Equine Open. We saw a huge smile on Bettina Robson's face, when Todd Graham took 'Peptos Stylish Gift' to first place, with a huge 147, closely followed by Jason Leitch aboard Ray Porter's 'Oak and Ashes' with a 146, and then "Mr Comet", Denis Donovan with 'Spirit of Spin' in 3rd with a 145.

Sunday dawned a little cooler and overcast, and the days events started with the Novice Non Pro, taken out by Joanne Smith (Winderadeen Scat Cat) with a score of 174, closely followed by Bettina Robson (Peptos Stylish Gift) with a 73.5, with Ian Bush (Stylish N Casual) and William Tapp (Do Rey Me) tying on 73.

Next up was the $10000 Non Pro, which saw Steve Smith and Redneck Woman triumph with a 74, followed by Melissa Speed (Shortys Goldust) Steve Smith (Henrys Choice) and James Parker (Winderadeen Blacklabelcat) all on 73

The final event was the $10000 Novice, which saw Todd Graham aboard Mark Smith's 'Destiny's Mr Chic', with a 74, narrowly beat himself aboard Bettina Robson's 'Peptos Stylish Gift' with 73.5, from Jason Leitch riding the Inglis's 'Present a Playboy', on 73

As is expected at Wild Horse, the nights kicked on till the wee hours, and a great time was had by all.

If you happen to see photos of a video guy apparently sleeping, rest assured I was only 'resting my eyes' (Thanks Al!!)
