WELCOME

Hi, and welcome to the Cowhorse Videography blog!

The name is new, the face behind it is not. (Don't be rude!)

I started webcasting back in 2008, and have continued to webcast and video working horse events since.

My philosophy then, as now, was to use the power of video to promote equine events and disciplines. My work has always been free to watch, and as far as replays go, will stay that way.

I'd like to think that if I've achieved nothing else to date, I've shown the industries concerned that their members could, and should, be offered more at no extra cost to them, and maybe a few other sites have lifted their games also.

Anyway, new name, new site (Thanks to Caroline from http://cowhorse.com.au/), but the same drive to promote equine sports in the best way I know, by harnessing the power of video and webcasting.

Cheers for now

Neil

Why did you change from Nothing But Cutting to cowhorse.com.au?

This is probably the most common question I've fielded over the past month, so I'll do my best to answer it here
Nothing But Cutting came about following my first ever webcast, of the NCHA Futurity Finals, back in October 2008, which was rapidly followed by the Reining Australia Futurity webcast. (Both late in '08 because of EI)
While both disciplines embraced the webcasts, and the replays which were available following them, both disciplines also had separate followers, and so were born, Nothing But Cutting, and Nothing But Reining.
From the webcasting came the video work. I never could understand why the recording of all runs is compulsory, those runs were never placed on the web for replay. Must be too difficult I figured.
After a little exploration I figured it wasn't really difficult at all, and so, beginning with Wild Horse Cutting in April 2009, every scoring run, from every show I did the video work for, was made freely available for replay via Nothing But Cutting.
I've almost lost count of the shows I've covered, and the number of runs available to view (close to 10,000 now, I think) But I do know that given the choice, I'd do them all again!
I had literally reached the stage of having to decide between maintaining websites, or videoing shows, after all, there is only one of me!

At this time, I spotted cowhorse.com.au. Just launched, looking fresh and very well put together. I contacted Caroline, we had a discussion re mutual benefits, and so an alliance was formed.

I'm still Neil Jones. I still do the jobs that you ask me to do, the videos, the webcasts, that little bit extra at times. I just do it under a different name. Cowhorse Videography.

Is cowhorse.com.au, or any part of it, my site? NO
Do I have any input in the decision making process of the site? NO
Do Caroline and I have a common interest in promoting the Australian cow horse industry? YES

I believe that by focussing more on my video and webcasting services, that I will be able to better promote the industry, and that by doing this in conjunction with cowhorse.com.au, that people can feel secure, in knowing that they are dealing with knowledgeable, ethical industry focussed people.
