WELCOME

Hi, and welcome to the Cowhorse Videography blog!

The name is new, the face behind it is not. (Don't be rude!)

I started webcasting back in 2008, and have continued to webcast and video working horse events since.

My philosophy then, as now, was to use the power of video to promote equine events and disciplines. My work has always been free to watch, and as far as replays go, will stay that way.

I'd like to think that if I've achieved nothing else to date, I've shown the industries concerned that their members could, and should, be offered more at no extra cost to them, and maybe a few other sites have lifted their games also.

Anyway, new name, new site (Thanks to Caroline from http://cowhorse.com.au/), but the same drive to promote equine sports in the best way I know, by harnessing the power of video and webcasting.

Cheers for now

Neil

Central Hope Holbrook Championship show

A rain shortened Saturday saw Andrew Petch aboard BWQ Stylish Chic, take out the Snaffle Bit from 18 other competitors, with a 73.

Jamie Creek and Ima Pritty Pepto took out the Australian Performance Horse Magazine $3500 Novice Event, again, from 18 other competitors, and again with a 73.

I dont recall the rain stopping all day, but it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of anyone, and after a fantastic meal catered by the local pony club, a very convivial evening, involving cutters and locals alike eventuated.

Sunday dawned bright and sunny, and saw Wilba Thornberry on Docs Cadence emerge victorious from two herds in the Novice Non Pro, with a score of 73.

Rylee Belsher and Little Tassas Destiny took out the Australian Performance Horse Magazine Rookies with a score of, you guessed it, 73. Rylee also took out the Youth on the same pony with a 72.

Richard Webb on board Belinda Clarks Pride Of Lawson took out the Open with a 73 also.

The $10,000 Non Pro saw Vaughan McGuiness and Cassidy Oak triumph over two herds, with a 73

The Open Non Pro saw a tie for first between Shane Crawford on Tassas Gold Fever, and Kim Campbell on Sweet Smokin Hootch, with scores of 72.

Sunday night was spent in part enjoying a great meal at the Holbrook Hotel, as well as the company of a few locals. During the meal we were privileged to have a presentation from the CEO of Country Hope, one of the charities supported by Central Hope Cutters.

Monday morning saw a bunch of local pony clubbers introduced to cattle in a pen, with some great results. My highlight was witnessing a little tacker on a shetland pony enter the herd, and take on the cattle! Absolutely fantastic!

Jeanette Belsher on Yulgilbar I'm So Smart, with a 72.5, narrowly took the points from husband Rob, and Vaughan McGuiness on 72, after 2 herds of the $3500 Non Pro.

Richard Webb on Pride Of Lawson took out the $10,00 Novice to finish the day, and the show.

I commend the Central Hope Club on the great shows which they put on, the involvement which they encourage with the local communities, and the terrific fundraising they perform for Country Hope, and the kids which they in turn support.

Till next time
Cheers
Neil
